At Stopham Vineyard, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site. We need some data from you to provide you with wine or tours that you may order. You can be assured that we never sell, trade or pass on any data you give us, except for legitimate reasons such as courier delivery or credit card verification. This policy explains in detail when and why we collect your personal data and how we use it.
Types of data we collect
When someone visits www.stophamvineyard.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
If you register for our e-newsletter, we collect personal information. This information includes your name and email address. We use that information to send you our bi-annual newsletter. We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer Simon Woodhead.
When you purchase a tour or wine from us, we collect personal data to facilitate that transaction. This information includes name, address, telephone number, products ordered, date ordered. Any data transacted with our website is sent to us encrypted using HTTPS over SSL.
If you use a credit/debit card to pay for your purchases, then the details you give that are necessary to authorise those purchases our given to our third party card transaction provider, Stripe. This transaction is between you and Stripe. We do not take or hold any credit card information. We also could pass on your address to a courier company for the purposes of wine delivery.
Access to your data
Under GDPR legislation, you are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer, Simon Woodhead.
